The hotel is conveniently located near the rail station, making it easy to access. the rooms are practical and come with a kettle for coffee and tea. It was very quiet and the breakfast was good. The wifi connection was good. The room was clean and I'm always pleased when there is a box of paper tissues and a hair dryer in the room. The curtains were nice. The restaurant area seemed to be more up to date than the room, and if you wanted to use the Spa it was a good hotel.

The carpet was stained and the bathroom needed updating. A shower cubicle is much better than a shower over a bath, especially when the bath is very high to climb in and out of. I didn't really like being on the ground floor overlooking the car park, because of lack of security and privacy, but it was probably better in case of fire. I'm not so sure that it is a good idea that there is no reception staff in the hotel after 10pm. I thought it was rather expensive for an out of date room and bathroom.

The service was friendly, and for our particular trip it was a good location.

If considering the Hotel evening buffet my advice would be, don't.
